Overview:
The IPFW Center of Excellence in System Engineering (ICESE) invites applications for
position of Associate Director. The department seeks candidates with expertise in systems
engineering with an interest in modeling and simulation of systems and its application to system
architecture, analysis, design, and/or system verification and validation. This position offers the
right candidate an opportunity to help continue to build a dynamic and vibrant systems engineering
program. Funds are available to design, build and establish a laboratory for conducting research
into system modeling and simulation. IPFW offers a competitive salary and benefits package, and an

several hours of Chicago, Columbus, Cincinnati, Detroit and Indianapolis. It boasts affordable

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop and establish the IPFW collaborative
engineering and simulation research laboratory for conducting systems engineering research; develop
sophisticated models and simulations, hosting concurrent engineering activities; and facilitating
education and training. (Funding is available to build this laboratory.)
* Support research into
modeling and simulation and its application to system architecture, system design, and/or system
verification and validation
* Perform and publish research
* Obtain funding to support future
research activities
* Support the needs of the Northeast Indiana defense/aerospace industry

Interact with local defense contractors
* Develop and teach one graduate-level course each
semester in systems engineering topics which could include system modeling and simulation,
requirement management, and system verification and validation
Qualifications:

Required:
* Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, or relevant field of science
* Course work
or R&D experience in systems engineering and modeling and simulation
* Knowledge of systems
engineering and modeling and simulation.
* Two years relevant academic research experience or
industry experience in areas related to systems engineering and/or modeling and simulation
*
Demonstrated research record
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* U.S.
citizenship
-- Preferred:
* Experience with DoD-related systems engineering
methodologies
* Familiarity with systems engineering software tools such as UML, SysML, DOORS,
CORE, SLATE, and @RISK
* Knowledge of grant writing and proposal development process

* Assistant managing editor and lead writer for USA Football Magazine
* Assistant managing editor and lead writer for USA Football’s annual report
* Generate story ideas for USA Football communication vehicles
* Assist with USA Football public relations initiatives, publicizing events, members and resources
Qualifications:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
* Internet publishing and Photo Shop experience
* At least five years of communications experience
* Strong organizational skills and professionalism
* Football knowledge and a youth football background is a plus
